Exhibition Title: The Far-Reaching Radiance of Auspicious Bronze: A Special Exhibition on the Bronze Civilization of Southwest China

Exhibition Period: July 22, 2025 – October 19, 2025

Exhibition Venue: Ningbo Museum

Exhibition Overview:This exhibition brings together 165 exquisite artifacts (sets) from 17 cultural institutions across Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Guizhou, and Guangxi. Centered on bronze ware—traditionally revered as "auspicious metal"—and complemented by a diverse array of jade, gold, and pottery artifacts, the exhibition vividly and comprehensively showcases the splendid bronze civilization of Southwest China from the Shang Dynasty to the Han Dynasty.

Structured into three core sections based on geographical regions—Sichuan-ChongqingYunnan, and Guizhou-Guangxi—the exhibition highlights distinct cultural legacies: the first section focuses on the ancient Shu civilization, represented by the renowned Sanxingdui and Jinsha archaeological sites; the second section presents artifacts from the Dian culture, characterized by their unique religious beliefs and aesthetic sensibilities; and the third section showcases the sophisticated and inclusive bronze artifacts from Guizhou and Guangxi, reflecting mature craftsmanship and stylistic diversity.
