Exhibition Name: BRINGING PEACE TO ALL UNDER HEAVEN——THE QIN DYNASTY'S UNIFICATION OF CHINA
Exhibition Period: June 12, 2021 - September 12, 2021.
Exhibition Venue: Changsha Museum
Exhibition Overview:This exhibition is a continuation of the 2019 “Top Ten Fine Exhibition Treasures of National Museums” from the Qin Shi Huang Emperor’s Mausoleum Museum. It is a collaboration between 20 domestic cultural and museum institutions, showcasing a total of 150 exquisite cultural relics, showing the visitors the long journey of Qin Kingdom from a small western tribe to a unified empire after hundreds of years of operation.
The exhibition uses the voices of characters “Heifu” and “Jing” from the Yunmeng Qin bamboo slips to showcase the Qin people’s centuries-long struggle and progress. Through three thematic sections: “Conquer the World,” “Towards Unification,” and “The Governance of One Hundred Generations,” the exhibition tells the story of the Qin Kingdom’s journey from Duke Xiang establishing the state, Duke Mu declaring ambitions, Duke Xiao’s efforts for strength, King Huiwen’s rise, King Zhaoxiang’s hegemony, and eventually, King Ying Zheng’s “determination inherited from six generations, rising with great strategies to rule the empire.” Over hundreds of years and 35 generations of monarchs, they ultimately achieved the great goal of unification.
