Exhibition Overview: The exhibition showcases significant cultural relics excavated from the Sanxingdui sites and Jinsha sites, gradually unveiling the mysterious veil of the ancient Shu civilization. A total of 139 items/sets of cultural relics are on display, including 65 items/sets of first-class cultural relics.
The exhibition revolves around the typical cultural relics unearthed from two crucial sites of the ancient Shu Kingdom, namely the Sanxingdui and Jinsha sites. These cultural relics include unique bronze statues, bronze masks, gold foil ornaments, jade cong and bi, jade weapons, pottery, and more. It outlines the distinct development of the ancient Shu history and culture in the southwestern region of China, showcasing the splendid, fantastical, and mysterious religious rituals and cultural artistic achievements of the Shu civilization. It reveals the cultural connotations and characteristics of the ancient Shu civilization, ranging from the worship of “gods” to the lives of the Shu ancestors who inhabited the land of Bashu. It portrays the unique development of ancient Shu history and culture in the southwestern region of China, displaying the magnificent, mystical, and romantic religious rituals, as well as the cultural and artistic accomplishments of the Shu civilization.
