Exhibition Name: Competing from the East——Special exhibition of ancient chinese sports relics
Exhibition Period:May 18th, 2023-August 31st, 2023
Exhibition Venue:Kuahuqiao Site Museum
Exhibition Overview:Sports are one of the symbols of human civilization, and they have emerged and matured in China at an early stage. The "archery" and "charioteering" in the ancient Chinese "Six Arts" highlight the tradition of valuing sports in Chinese culture. Chinese sports culture has a long history, integrating both intellectual education and physical training, reflecting the cultural construction of sports in traditional China, which is unique to Eastern sports culture.
The special exhibition "Competing from the East: Special exhibition of ancient chinese sports relics" is jointly organized by the Kuaheqiao Site Museum and the Sichuan Museum, with 18 cultural institutions and museum, including the Yangtze River Basin Museums Alliance and the China National Museum, as co-organizers. The exhibition gathers outstanding sports-related artifacts from 18 museums across China, aiming to showcase a glimpse of ancient Chinese sports culture. It invites visitors to not only appreciate the profound and long-standing sports culture of China but also to understand the inner drive of the Chinese people—persistent, ever-vibrant, and continuously striving forward!
